[Learn more](#learnmore) ## **Southern African water scarcity** and how we have responded ## The Windhoek project **In Namibia, Veolia operates the Goreangab plant, a one-of-a-kind facility and the first large-scale installation in the world capable of producing drinking water directly from recycled wastewater.** For over twenty years, this plant has supplied up to 35% of the drinking water needs of the capital city, Windhoek. The process involves several purification steps: - **microfiltration** - **reverse osmosis** - **UV disinfection** Ensuring water quality equivalent to that of natural spring water.
